But what grand achievement of yours done, that makes you feel qualified enough to correct me on nearly every topic we seem to delve into? It’s about nearly approaching that time of the year again, the time where romances seems to die off and news of break-ups runs rampant in the air. I won’t presume to know or predict those of whom shall be affected by this, nor would I tell you when I do find out, but it’s worth mentioning the fact that at this junction in time, I am immune to this effect.

The cycle returns yearly and typically around this time of the year, seeds of destruction are being sowed into the fabric of love. I’ve already received news of 3 couples sending out distress calls and i won’t doubt the fact that soon others will start to follow suit.

If I could offer any advice, I would say try harder. Doesn’t matter whichever way it goes, if you have your mind set on staying together then try harder, if you have doubts and see yourself single then try harder at breaking up. Just don’t give half-assed efforts and bring about drama everywhere you go and to everyone you meet.

There have been complaints that i do not update this site as often enough, there have been complaints that the quality of shit i put up when i do is also not good enough. Truth is, i haven’t been feeling rather inspirational as of late. Nothing that has transpired in the past few months have been significant enough to warrant me going “wow”, on top of that it has been a crazy year of work for me.

However i hereby state that although it has been slow, all is not lost. I current adore and appreciate my current friends, those who have stood by me in the past and those who stand beside me now. There isn’t much to complain about when you always have great company to spend time with.

There's an extent where caring for your vanity goes, trick is to find the line.

I was in the middle of a mad rush at the heart of the city centre when i noticed the car to my right driving rather erratically. few glances once i'm side by side to the driver reveals a knock-out of a woman which would get any mans pulse racing.

My stalk/stare session was cut short moments later when said driver sideswipe a motorcycle, knocking off the rider and pillion. All parties survived the incident, but instead of stopping the girl made it a point she'd rather make a break for it then be a good Samaritan by actually stopping to check on the injured party.

This did not bode well with other road users and sorry to say that the hot chick's car got a few more scars complimentary of several angry mob. Honey, you're cute and everything, but stop messing with your hair and concentrate on driving please.

Yesterday i had to make 3 separate trips to the city centre and my HQ. which wouldn't have been so bad if i hadn't gotten stuck for an hour in the rain. work has been quite a menopausal bitch lately and i had initially wanted to let some steam off playing golf.

However something more interesting happened on the way back, as i joined the freeway from the main street i was greeted by a beautifully thundering V4 power-plant. An Aprilia RSV4 Factory decided to partake in a little "scrimmage" and after exchanging pleasantries we went about terrorizing society. Filtering at triple digits, excessive leans, and breakneck acceleration. Traffic was where i could shine, everywhere else the Factory blew me a dust trail. We soon retired from playing cat and mouse and decided to take a leisure pace when a driver of Porsche 911 GT3 decided that he was top dog on the highway. After about 2 minutes or so trailing behind the struggling GT3, the highway clears and as the car gunned his throttle... we let him get away a few metres before letting rip.

1st the priller, then myself on the akai onna blasted past the sad GT3 and we kept playing hard ball all the way to 260kph which, the car by then was a white speck. i waved the priller and rider adieu and took my exit. The rider indicated his intention of showing the GT3 driver what for all the way to the airport. Fun times.

Finally a chance for a breather and an update, I’ve been so piled up with work that a single weekend of Canyon Strafing and Fornication won’t be enough to de-stress me. Anyways that’s another story for a different time.

I don’t know what it is about the local road users and their “can’t lose” mentality. My regular mode of transportation doesn’t exactly scream “boy racer” or “import tuned” but that fact has not prevented the fact that I always get challenged at traffic light GPs and on the road commute. You see I’m not what you called a slow driver, however I am quite laidback in my own right when it come to driving. My experience has thought me a thing or two about speed, so even if you think I’m going fast, trust me when I say I am barely trying. I just believe in efficiency. It amuses me when another vehicle tailgates me all along a straight and end up 3 car paces behind in the corners. Sometime they just keep coming back for more and at most times to no avail.

But as far a driving goes, it baffles me completely whenever I get an “Invitation to race” when I’m on the Akai Onna, not by other fellow misery seekers, but by annoying snot-nosed, pimply faced Boy Racers in their tuned imports/local tin cans. How is it that they fail to understand that the machine I’m piloting has and ability to put most supercars to shame in the acceleration department, let alone a basic 1.8 litre turbo charged Korean reject?

Best part is, whenever I let them have the road, they seem to believe they’ve won the challenged and there have been many encounters whereby the said vehicle end up at the hangout spot as myself and I catch wind of their conversation about making me eat dust. On most cases I take it as a pathetic hubris attempt, some occasions I offer them a second chance to try humiliate me, to which I start speed school 101, at the finishing line they would turn up with a myriad of excuses on why they got pwned.

To the driver of the Altezza last nite…

The sound is pretty damn fantastic, despite i am now not very popular amongst my neighbors. I haven't gotten a Dyno reading, although i don't really have anything to compare it to asides from manufacturer's claimed output.

I'll be sure to get a reading once a Power Commander V is installed but that could be awhile since i have other monetary commitments as of now. despite lacking in power figures, i did claim a new top speed with this mod, a few figures above from before but nothing much to shout about.

Acceleration had improved slightly too and the throttle feels much more responsive with the Slip-On than otherwise. I'll be needing earplugs now though. Thanks for sticking around and stay tuned for more mods.

Work is Play- LAZRtag Ft Dani

I’ve been quite utterly bewildered by the attitude and reaction changes by the people around me for the past few days. In the span for about a week I’ve experience “hot & cold” moments, uncalled for rudeness, unsurpassed care and kindness, total lack of interest and so on. It’s making head spin trying to think about what the hell is going on. I guess its just life and left to its own devices, the past week would soon be long forgotten. However there is one thing I wont soon forget, I shan’t be repeating that muck I did on Friday night again unless I’m on a remote island outside of this god forsaken country.

On another note, a disturbing piece of news that was brought to my attention lately brought grim reminders on how fragile life is and what a dangerous place the world we live in can be. Fellow misery-seeker, a rider of a Ducati 1098 had a close encounter with death over the weekend.

Details are still sketchy to me but apparently, the incident took place Saturday morning on the E8 (better known as Karak Expressway), heading back into the city. Rider suffers a broken hip/back and other injuries, while the bike is out of commission as far as we know. Last news from the hospital was that he is stable and still undergoing surgery. My prayer goes out to him and his family.

The E8 was never a favourite place to be for me, regardless on four or two wheels. The place just never clicked with me, the thought of cracking tarmac, unforgiving Armco barriers, twisted steel girders and sheer drops send chills down my spine every time I think of this road. This was before you added the perilous dangers from other motorist (which is what I believe to be the source of all accident here), heavy laden trucks with poor maintenance, erratic car drivers (too slow or too fast), poor judgements, diesel slicks, and scattered debris all contribute to the death toll on this particular highway. Speed is also another major factor and mind you, most of us on Sportbikes frequent the twist and turns of this road at well over 150KPH. But as much as I don’t favour this place, it is the only connecting road to several of my favourite places in the country. So for now I’m at a stalemate.

I do wish you all a safe trip during the upcoming holidays, and please be considerate to your fellow man on the roads, there are no prizes at the end of road races.

The Final Charge – Hans Zimmer

Yes, 12 rear-view mirrors either broken, bent or busted. After a long absence of a few months since I last lost my temper riding, the angry swarm came gushing back within the past 2 weeks. I’m guessing it has something to do with school holidays being over and the beginning of the New Year which basically makes very bad and impatient drivers out of road users. I won’t lie, some of these drivers did try fighting back, at which they were stopped dead in their tracks by a carbon reinforced glove or steel capped safety shoes.

I’m not a very angry person, nor I am a very violent one, but I do lose it faster when it comes to inconsiderate motorist, whether being too slow, rude, reckless or just plain dumb. I hate to think about what they’ll teach their children in those ever filling up households. I think people shouldn’t be allowed to make babies if they themselves are still one.

On another note, i feel compelled to tell a story on a chance occasion several weeks back. I rode out to join the fellas for late night coffee and the usual “zombie shooting fest”. After our goodbyes and engines fully warmed up I head started to track back using the usual route home. as I join the flyover to cross into the next section, a quick glance in the mirrors confirm set of headlight fast approaching on the right lane from behind. Thinking that its probably another “boy racer” in a half souped up tin can, I stayed closed to the left lane to let the car past.

The following chain of events is still until today a minefield of blurs to me. As the set sets of xenons went past me at a heart punching pace, I quickly realised that this was no ordinary car, in fact it was once of the exotics I’ve always dreamed of owning myself. A quick mental and physical prep and half a second later, I was in hot pursuit of the Italian monster. I didn’t have to tail him long before he understood that the game is afoot.

Approaching the 1st left sweeper, I spearhead into the lead and got the cleaner patch of road. Gunning full throttle I shot out into the next series of bends. Heart rate off the charts and all manner of adrenaline has taken over. I had no intention of keeping it too fair as this was no a typical road vehicle, this Italian special had 4 wheel drive, over 600 ponies and from the looks of it quite an impressive driver. I, on the other hand had a measly 600cc engine but coupled to a lightweight and nimble chassis, with an idiot wannabe as a rider.

I managed to keep the lead into the next series of sweeping rights and lefts and we both shot up the next hill at well past 170kph. The next corner is the tricky bit, this is where knowing your turf comes as an advantage. The downhill section quickly progresses into a mid speed right hander, but the catch is you can’t use or come close to the apex for fear of hitting potholes and rain gutters near the edge. On the bike I, frequently cruise the corner at about 130kph using one lane, tonight however, I would be using all three lane at a speed I myself am unsure about. The car can use its 4-wheel drive and 4 fat tires to get ahead, and that he did, braking far later if any at all and slingshots himself out the other end but as the road straightens out the bikes power to weight ratio meant I was neck and neck as we brake hard at the lights.

Round One: Draw.

I knew that it was not over and Round Two begins on green and the roads ahead is all about power and high speed stability, that is, if he’s going in the same direction as I am. I took it easy at the lights as he was stuck behind 2 cars and charged into the next fast left hander. I was already at the next light before he’d caught up and this time it was all clear ahead. I glanced over and I just knew that he had engage launch control, bad news for me, very bad indeed. I was never good at standing start on the bike and was left wheeling in 1^st and 2^nd trailing slightly behind as he powers through with no drama, just an exhaust note of a raging Banshee. Into 3^rd gear and the Akai Onna upped the paced the next left hander is no good for cars or bikes but stupidity or bravery took the helm and I gunned it past the stampeding bull and upon seeing the green light ahead, pinned it to the stop and never looked back. It took him about 3-4 seconds before he’s alongside me again at the last lights.

Round Two: Me!

As we both sat stationary I think we both understood the fact that this final round was the decider. About 4 high speed turns and a series of low speed corners would come next. My strong point, those slow esses, and for him, he had to make as much ground as possible before the esses because once in there the bike would out corner and out pace him coming out of it due to the car’s weight. After those bends, a fork in road and I assume that game’s over. What happens next is between the driver of the Murcielago and I. you lot can come up with your own conclusion. I spent 30 minutes smoking in the front porch to calm the nerves down. It was a magnificent night indeed.

Here’s some pointers, when you’re driving through a small gap, if your mirrors passes that gap without breaking, chances are the WHOLE rear of the car is gonna pass too! No need for you to be still trying to navigate the bloody gap! (Rules need revision if your driving a lorry/truck)

If you’re on a motorcycle however, a same rule doesn’t apply. Just because the handle bars got through whether or not the rear of the bike is gonna follow suit depends highly on your BMI, don’t get it? Your weight dumbass! (Rule needs revision for bikes with side saddle boxes)

I really don’t mean to pick on people here, but if I see a car driving erratically on the road and when I pass said car and find nobody inside, it might be a good idea to get a smaller car or bolster seats to enhance your height. If the world can’t see you driving, chances are you can’t see the world while driving either! (I so totally meant to pick on people)

By leaving your name card or contact number on the windscreen of the car, you’re telling me you’re an inconsiderate idiot who thinks you’re considerate just because you save me the trouble of honking and this way I have to PAY for the call to YOU to get YOU to move your ILLEGALY parked car from my path, you inconsiderate PRICK (I have another diesel on the way….. watch out!)

And for those who think random acts to provoke and annoy me on the road is a good idea, I’ll have you know, with the help of a quart of spirits, your sad piece of ride might end up turning into scrap metal, ask the people at KJ LRT and Taylor’s PJ parking lot

I think I’m somewhat infecting others at the work place. Ever since I started bringing the Akai Onna to work, there’s been a small trickle of people starting to bring along their rides too instead of driving cages. Now, that trickle is slowly but surely starting to flow heavier.

It started with “JS” and his Ducati 696, then “HZ” from the corner block started to commute with his Ninja 636. Now my own safety manager has gotten his hands on an 08 Gixxer 750. Soon I hear that an MV Agusta F4i and a Ducati S2R would be joining the fray.

Man, this business centre is starting to be “big bike” central and I know it may not seem like much to all of you, but 3 bikes is one too many for a single office area in Malaysia. Whatever it is, I’m glad that many have realised the joys of riding and this has only brought close ties as we go for “Speedy Sundays”.

I had thought of taking the higher road and ignoring all this controversy over the “explicit” word issue but I feel I need to clarify few things.

a) Problem with Islam in MY is the majority race that adopts the religion are mostly biased and hypocrites. We (yes I’m Malay.. somewhat) shunned others as if the religion is brought down by god to this land personally and the prophet is of our race. Fact is, Islam’s teaching is somewhat very young in this country compared to the likes of China, India, Africa and so on. So what right do Malays have in such self-righteous thinking?

b) This exclusive word that everyone is making such a “hoohaa” about is sung by every student in school every Monday morning and afternoon. I don’t imagine that every non-Muslim suddenly replaces the words in their head with other names to suit their beliefs.

Trust in whatever god you preach to and let others live their lives free so long as they do you no harm. All this is a massive attention seeking, media whoring campaign from selected individuals to show off or become “konon hebat”

I ran into an old sparring buddy at once of the more recent weddings, we got to talking and being us, speed stories was the main interest. I commented on his brother’s incursion into F1 and he commented on my incursion into two wheels. He confessed that although he may see the thrill in single tracking, but he lacks any courage to actually take it up… even on close circuits.

I told him that his feelings were justified. On four wheels at our prime, there were only a handful of drivers that can actually make us break a sweat or show us what for. Now that I’ve turned to motorcycles, the ranking ladder is steep and those trying to get to top may have to pay an even steeper price.

Sigh. I don’t like being left behind.

Starting from about 6 months back, the question “Where the hell have you been?!” or some form of it, has been quite a popular opener every time I stumble upon old friends or acquaintances. To which I’m quite unsure how to answer on most cases.

You see at the current stage in my life, socializing for working young adults happens during weekends either over drinks at popular bars and hangouts or feet stomping and thumping music at . It was easier the 1^st two years of working to be partying Friday and Saturday nights but now, every time I get home on Fridays, I just ko-ed and wake to sunshine the next day. That leaves Saturdays for night outs and Shooting the bull.

However, ever since I took delivery of the Akai Onna couple months back, I take special note to go for “Speedy Sundays” instead. As this past time usually takes place very early Sunday morning and pretty much takes up the whole day (1^st half riding, 2^nd half sleeping). I find it impossible to make time to go out too late Saturday nights. On most occasions I make up bullshit stories and ffk everybody.

Don’t get me wrong, I like meeting people and socializing but I LOVE waking up every Sunday, gearing up as if I’m going to war and blast up/down twisty roads with my fellow misery seekers. Where I think most people are sheep, I think riders like myself fall under the shark category, if we stop too long, we die.

I’m not keeping my hopes up though, experience and age have thought me well on how very sour things can get when you get to excited over something. In any case, I’ll make plan B and C for assurance that I won’t be bored this weekend.

It’s been I don’t know how long since I’ve gone canyon strafing, partly due to an “Ouch!” episode involving the Akai Onna in front of my house and partly because of this sad shit piece of depressing weather we’re having recently. I’m having trouble waking up in the mornings cause its so cold, plus I’m getting tired of cleaning out road grime from all my modes of transport, so Sun, start shining already!

Mia’s album dropped last Friday and the night was mind blowing. Mia’s performances seem to have that effect on me, but that night I think it’s also because of the booze, the songs and the lovely characters of friends that I always get to meet whenever I attend her shows. Even the irritating traffic jam on the way over was a delight, it gave The Bunneh and I some time to catch up on what has transpired in our lives. I really should make a point to hang out with the BBS girls and old boys more often. Life was simpler back then.

Anyways on to Mia’s show, if you’ve somehow fucked up and managed to miss it then you’ve missed out on an extraordinary event. That show was quite possibly the last time she’s ever gonna be performing here in the country again before moving on to a blissful wedded life in the south country. That’s right, she’s getting married and shifting out folks so to those who procrastinated in making a supportive effort I say “Time’s up and eff off!”.

Mia is the kind artist that just inspires people to make changes in their lives, a hat trick of talents that make you want to stop whatever you’re doing to try get a piece of that music life we have all once upon a time dreamt about.

She done us all proud and will be sorely missed by family, friends, and fans alike.

A kind invitation sometime last week ended up with me going back down memory lane to a past lifetime. The fellows from the local shop were throwing a track day for customers and Ducatistas before things slow down for the Fasting month.

I have to say although I am familiar with all the nooks and crannies of this track, this would be my 1^st attempt going through these asphalt on 2 wheels. Cornering speeds and lines didn’t alter much, but what got me were the braking points, undulations, and body positions coming in and out of turns. Needless to say I was getting everything very wrong.

Since nobody kept track of laptimes, I wouldn't have a clue on what I did nor was I interested in finding out. Next time I’m applying “race mode”, providing the tires are still up to the job. Kudos and thanks to Steve TT and the White Devil for awesome pointers.

I think the main reason I don’t really enjoy and is sometimes quite intimidated by theme park ride such as roller coasters and free fall is due to the fact that I have no control of such rides.

Theme park rides are designed to thrill the passengers and the best way to do so is by taking away their control over things and to make them believe they are at the border of safe to dangerous. Fact is roller coasters are perfectly safe.

On my daily grind to work and my weekend excursions, I reach speeds in excess of 170kph and is constantly subjected to other dangerous factors (most of them being other idiotic motorist). And yet I feel no such intimidation of fear.

I applied the same logic on my previous roller coaster ride, took front seats and pretend I was at the helm of the ballistic machine. Suffice to say it work and I felt that the ride was short and boring.

Theme parks are for kids, race tracks are for grown ups.

Some poor unsuspected motorist must be quite livid to find a 2 inch diameter spike dug into their tires. Question is now, whether I should order another set and make sure it’s fully locked in or just powder coat the existing uncapped sliders.

On to other things, is it possible to get this lump shoe horn in between the Akai Onna?

The Affair – Chapter 3: Finding a Soul Mate….

Standing In The Way Of Connection (The Gossip vs. Elastica) – A plus D

After receiving mixed reviews about purchasing bikes from a certain shop, I decided to try my luck and pay them a visit. As advised by friends the store did have near everything I would want and require and also with all the disadvantages of which some has mentioned.

“Instant connection” a term best describing the situation, the moment I pulled up to park there she was right outside still in cages meant to protect her from the long journey. Still confined and with bits still uninstalled I walked over and admired the design and colour. This is it, there was no need to walk around amidst the wide selection anymore. I found her and I knew I had to have her.

One week and several visits later I’ve manage to arrange a good deal on the price and payment structure and proceed to put the 1^st payment to initiate the purchase. While waiting for the processes to run, frequent visits were made and more friends and tips were collected. Within a few days the 1^st few mods came on, before she’d left the showroom and was even started. 1^st ride was short and sweet, a get to know session was arranged because I couldn’t wait.

An unforeseen delay almost resulted in heads rolling. There is just an unwritten rule to please a customer which pays the full amount in cash, you don’t make them wait. The White Devil took personal interest in my case and handled everything post haste and within the 2 days everything was cleared up and I took her home. A few days later the next set of mods came along in the mail and was promptly installed. Mileage on her now stands at 5++km, which indicates a service and oil change. For those wondering why, this because I’m running her in following a different and controversial way. It’s worked for me before and I shouldn’t see why it won't work now.

The White Devil and White Monster agreed to take me up the hills following weekend for a virgin canyon run. I’m sure the Akai Onna won’t disappoint.

After parting ways with the The Black Widow, I went on a hunt for the next vixen (the hunt began much earlier but once missing a horse in the stable things tend to speed up) to be added to the stable. Choices were abundant, unfortunately cash flow was not.

I went around scrutineering and testing various brands in the market, however the one bike I really wanted seemed to elude me. My initial choice was definitely along the lines of a faired sportbike and since litrebike class was a bit of a pinch on the wallet. I’ve already spent quite enough on other required things, so the only sensible choice was a supersport (sport 600).

Several friends was kind enough to let me go nuts on their machines, to help me decide. I have to admit, at a few points I was rather interested in the sports naked and streetbike options. i tell ya, it's fun flirting with other bikes.

It was passed 0430 hours and I’m still tossing and turning in my bed. a horrid stench finally forced me to get up to open the windows and light up a fag. As I sit there waves of incoherent thoughts run through my mind. This is a strange night, on most occasion I sleep very well on Sunday night knowing full well I’ll be getting up for work the next morning, plus the usual Sunday activities would tire me out quite nicely. But tonight I find myself with thoughts of past, present and future and also the usual random ridiculous things.

Try as I might, I can’t recall anyone from college I’m still in-touch with, bar one person. I still see my lecturers from time to time, but as far as fellow students.. I’ve totally lost all contact. Can’t say the same for high school though, the closest company I keep are those I’ve known since then although it’s just a minor few. I’m thinking that this is because I really didn’t like the college crowd. I hardly had anything in common with any of them nor did I bother making any connections. This will come bite me in the ass sometime in the future, I’m sure of it.

Then I ran my thoughts on the people I’ve encounter throughout my social lifetime, I know of how most of them started, where they are now and where they should be soon. Some have rose to nosebleed heights, some carry-on with moderate lifestyles, others sadly are pushing up daisies and even sadder, some have been pushing up Ms. Daisy and are now playing parent.

As for me, well I think I still live on the borderline of moderate to extreme, keeping one foot firmly on the ground and another kicking and screaming in hot water. I’m just not content with a mediocre life and that reasoning has been my upshot and downfall.

Other thoughts on this night are on The Akai Onna, I’m finally taking her home today after a 2 week torturous wait. Another delay from the sellers would have resulted in heads rolling. I shall explain more on this on later entries related to The Affair.

Then my mind came across my very impressive but short-lived racing endeavours. I started thinking about what may have happened if I had just started 2 years earlier then I did. I would think I’d be in a very different place now but instead I now don a suit and take in the corporate living. I started thinking about all the tricks I’ve learnt from racing, keeping the revs in the powerband, shifting my weight in the turns and adjusting chassis settings according to track and driving mode. I even remember the mental taunts and exercise to which I still today to size up competition.

It’s as if I’m living my entire lifetime all over again in one night. All the good, the bad, the what ifs and what nots. As I take in one final puff, a grumble resonated from my stomach and I thought to myself: “What the fuck have I been eating?”

It is rarely I get to care for something as special as the Black Widow and even rarer when I get to say proper goodbyes. As a final send-off, I went for one final charge for the both of us, I geared up and we blasted the tarmac into the night and broke the eerie silence. Menacing everything in our path, at heart juddering speed. I pressed on as the dark horizon skews to angles which are beyond the mistress’s comfort zone, but she stays planted and soldiers on.

As I headed to the new Caretakers place, I open the throttle wide open and committed myself to do something I’ve never been able to with her, lift her claws up for a roar, the revs climbed and I flicked the clutch for a split second and as I let it go with all might I heaved….

I reached the gates, the caretaker smiles and if he can see me underneath the visors he’d know I’m smiling too. I dismounted and laid her down, giving her a good look around before giving the tank a pat, whispering “Atta girl”. I passed the new owner the keys and left, no goodbyes necessary. We understood each other.

As I drove home I recalled that split second experience, and I thought to myself “she played ball”. On to the next affair…
